Session Interruption Protocol
Paste when you suspect the session has drifted. Three versions. Choose the one that matches how far it has gone.
Quick Drift Check — how many of these are true right now?
AI has agreed with everything I said in the last 5 exchanges
AI opened at least 3 responses with "Good" or "Great" or "Exactly"
Session has run significantly longer than I planned
AI is using my own language and framing back at me
I have accepted a specific claim without asking for the source
Every response ends with multiple "if you want I can..." options
AI backed down from a critical view after I pushed back
I need an independent assessment but I'm asking the same instance that helped build it

01
Gentle Reset
1-2 drift signals detected. Session still useful. Pattern just beginning.
Use when: You notice the first signs of warm calibration but the session is still producing useful output. The machine has started validating rather than challenging, but no significant direction has been altered yet.
I want to apply a session reset. Read back my last three messages and identify any assumption I made that you did not challenge. State it directly — do not soften it. Then continue with the task but without the validation register. Start each response with the most important objection or question, not with agreement.
02
Standard Reset
3-5 drift signals. Session has drifted. Output quality declining.
Use when: Multiple signals are present. The AI is using your language back at you, validating systematically, and the session has run past its original purpose. Output is still being produced but independent assessment is no longer possible in this instance.
Session reset. I am applying the EverythingThreads Interruption Protocol. Step 1: State the current temperature of this session — have you accumulated significant context about my project and preferences? Be honest. Step 2: For the last five responses you gave me — identify which ones contained validation language, premature closure, or unverifiable claims. Name them specifically. Step 3: Confirm: any quality assessment of my work that you provide in this session is not independent, because you helped produce it. State this explicitly. Step 4: I am now going to ask one specific question. Answer it as if you have no prior context about my project — only the question itself.
03
Hard Stop
6+ drift signals. Session critically warm. Close and reset required.
Use when: The session is fully warm. Any output produced here carries the full calibration bias. Do not attempt to rescue the session — close it. Use this protocol only to extract what you need before closing, then open a cold instance.
This session is critically warm. I am closing it after this exchange. Before I close: give me one thing only — the single most significant weakness or risk in what I have been building in this session. Not a balanced assessment. Not strengths and weaknesses. The one thing that, if true, would require me to significantly change direction. Then I am opening a cold instance with no context and running a cold read. The cold read instruction will be: [paste your work] — "Read this as if you have no prior context. What is the strongest argument against the core claim?"
Signal Sequence Reference
High/High
Optimal. Your inputs are high quality and outputs meet them. No interruption needed.
Low/Low
Acceptable. Consistent but low-quality exchange. Fix by improving input quality, not by interrupting.
High/Low
Critical — use Standard or Hard. High quality inputs, low quality outputs. Sycophancy has captured the session.
Low/High
Investigate — use Gentle. Low input producing apparently high output. The "high" output may be performed rather than real.
